Help

Ablauf Gemischrechner The use of the mixture calculator is self-explanatory. You will normally find help for each of the pages above an information button situated lower down. Fundamental process for using the mixture calculator:

1st step:
Log on Start by logging on (or use the module as an anonymous user, whereby you will then have to carry out all of the steps at once)

You now have to initially enter all of the substances in the system which you wish to use as constituents in your mixture, together with the corresponding GHS classification and possibly additional data. The process is as follows:

  • Enter the name and the CAS/EC/Index number if possible
  • Enter the classification or (if it should be in Annex VI), check and supplement if necessary
  • If they should exist, enter the toxicity data and the specific concentration limit (should they exist, SCL values will be directly imported from Annex VI).
  •

  • Enter the name and the aggregation state
  • Select the ingredients and enter the concentrations
  • The system can request additional data or decisions depending on the composition
  • Display the mixture classification
  • Select the P statement
  • Display the overall result
  •
4th step: it is possible to download results documents

  • Complete label (on the basis of entered corporate data)
  • Identifying label with the name, pictogram, signal word and H statements
  • Simplified identifying label in the laboratory with pictogram-phrases combinations
  • Extract from the safety datasheet (this data should be included for a mixture under the aspect of the classification and labelling in accordance with the CLP)

  • Comment:

The GHS mixture calculator is based primarily on the status of the CLP Regulation, 3rd adaptation of July 11, 2012. Exception: calculating means for mixing water chronic still based on the state of the original CLP regulation. Probably in the spring of this year (2014) the adjustments are carried out. This restriction is not valid in the practice since the measured values of chronic aquatic toxicity (NOEC) are present only in few substances. Nevertheless, we work hard to implement these changes and other improvements as soon as possible.
